Description
This plant produces firm, large black fruit with rich flavor on vigorous, cold‑hardy growth. Prolific white flowers appear in spring, signaling the arrival of flavorful fruit in summer. It is an excellent choice for canning and baking and produces fruit on second‑year wood. This variety is deciduous. Plant in fertile, mildly acidic, well‑drained soil. Water deeply and consistently during the first growing season to help establish a strong root system. Apply fertilizer in spring before new growth begins. After harvest, remove the older canes that have already fruited by cutting them back to the ground, while keeping the one‑year‑old canes to produce the next season’s crop.Photo courtesy of Monrovia.Additional information
