Jumbo Sweet Onion sets are the easy way to grow onions, no transplanting, no losses due to Onion fly.They produce juumbo, mild flavored onions.Onions will grow in most garden soils, but will give best results in rich deep soil.Plant early March (as soon soil is workable).Plant in rows 10 to 12 inches apart with 6 to 8 inches between sets.Plant shallowly leaving the tip of the bulbs showing above ground.Keep the ground well cultivated and weed free, water well during dry spells and feed with a high potash liquid fertilizer at about 10 day intervals as soon as plants start to “bulb up” generally early to mid June.Late in summer when leaves have withered, dig up onions and allow to dry in the open air for a few days.Preserve onions indoors in a cool dry place.
