Description

Charming pink and white blossoms create a striking spring display, followed by large, attractive red fruit known for its excellent flavor and crisp texture. The apples are well suited for fresh eating, baking, or pressing into cider and store well under cool conditions. For best fruit production, plant alongside another apple variety such as ‘Red Delicious’ or ‘Fuji.’ This deciduous tree requires approximately 800 chill hours.Grow in enriched, well-drained soil. Water deeply and regularly during the first few growing seasons to encourage strong root development, then reduce watering once established. Apply fertilizer in early spring to support healthy growth. Prune as needed to remove dead or damaged wood and to maintain the desired size and shape. Thin heavy fruit crops in late spring to help prevent limb damage from excess weight. Developed by the University of Minnesota, this exceptionally hardy apple is prized for its crisp, juicy texture and outstanding flavor, making it a favorite for both home orchards and markets. The fruit features a distinctive mottled red skin over a yellow background. A dependable annual producer, it ripens evenly, holds well on the tree, and can be harvested over an extended period.
