Zelkova serrata ‘Village Green’
Zelkovas became a popular replacement for Elms after Dutch Elm Disease decimated the population. They have similar foliage and vase shape to Elms, with good performance even in alkaline soils, pollution, wind, and drought. They are slow to moderate growers, with bright yellow to copper fall color and patchy exfoliating bark.Village Green is considered the hardiest of Zelkova cultivars, with consistent rusty red fall color.
