Description
A bright twist on a classic perennial, this variety features radiant yellow foliage that truly glows in spring and creates a striking focal point in the shade garden. In late spring, arching sprays of the beloved bleeding heart flowers appear, with pink and white heart shaped blooms dangling gracefully from the stems. As the season continues, the foliage gradually softens in color. This cultivar stays a bit smaller than typical Dicentra spectabilis, reaching up to 2′ tall at maturity.After its impressive spring display, old fashioned bleeding hearts usually go dormant until the following spring. With consistent watering through spring, dormancy can be delayed into late summer or early fall.
