Description
One of the easiest and most rewarding perennials to grow, the award‑winning ‘Blue Fortune’ is an exceptionally long‑blooming plant. It produces lavender‑blue, bottlebrush‑shaped flowers on strong, upright stems from midsummer through early fall. This makes it ideal for adding late‑season color to the garden when many other plants have finished blooming. When crushed, the foliage releases a distinct black licorice scent, which explains its common name, Anise Hyssop. ‘Blue Fortune’ was developed from a cross between Agastache rugosa and Agastache foeniculum. It was bred and selected by Gert Fortgens at the Arboretum Trompenberg in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and was honored as a Great Plant Picks award winner in 2004.Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens, Inc.Additional information
