Boston Ivy

Description

A well-known self-clinging vine prized for its dense foliage and rich purple new growth. Its large, lobed leaves emerge with purplish tones, mature to green, and then transition to a striking deep red‑purple display in autumn. This fast-growing climber readily attaches to surfaces, making it an excellent choice for quickly covering fences and brick or stone walls. It also functions effectively as a groundcover to conceal unattractive areas. Loses its leaves in winter.Thrives in typical, well‑drained soil conditions with minimal effort. During the first growing season, water thoroughly and on a regular schedule to encourage strong root development; once established, watering can be reduced. Apply a balanced, all‑purpose fertilizer as needed. Train the plant with a trellis, arbor, or similar structure for support.
