Description
Green foliage with red margins deepens to a brilliant red as cooler autumn temperatures arrive. In warmer weather, deep red flowers provide striking contrast against the green leaves. This versatile plant makes an excellent choice for groundcovers, borders, or rock gardens and also performs well in containers. Evergreen in all but the coldest climates.Thrives in average to very lean, well‑drained soil. Tolerates light shade, especially in hot southern climates. Water regularly during the first growing season to encourage development of an extensive root system, then reduce watering once established in the landscape. Avoid overwatering.
