Date Night Weigelias are dense, rounded, deciduous shrubs growing up to 6’ tall with funnel-shaped flowers that vary in color depending on selection. Leaves are green and serrate adding strong contrast with its flowers. Blooms in the spring and re-blooms into the summer. The Date Night Strobe cultivar is known for its changing foliage colors. It emerges green, into bronze, orange, and finally to crimson. Improved tolerance makes this a great choice as a low maintenance sun-shrub. They prefer average-moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but can tolerate shade. Prune immediately after flowering. Used often in shrub borders, groupings, or specimen plantings.
