Red maples are known for their brilliant fall color and rounded canopies. They’re adaptable to a wide range of soils, even wet spots. Avoid planting in heavy alkaline clay to prevent chlorosis. Moderate growth rate, but slower in dry soils. Brandywine has a moderately columnar form, with brilliant red fall color that can turn purple towards winter.
