Acer rubrum ‘Armstrong’
Red maples are known for their brilliant fall color and rounded canopies. They’re adaptable to a wide range of soils, even wet spots. Avoid planting in heavy alkaline clay to prevent chlorosis. Moderate growth rate, but slower in dry soils. Armstrong Columnar is faster growing than the other species, with orange-red fall color and a distinctly upright shape.
