Cornus kousa ‘Wolf Eyes’
Kousa Dogwoods flower 2-3 weeks later than native varieties, with more cold-hardy buds and strong horizontal branching. White bracts persist for up to 6 weeks, turning pinkish as they age. Reddish raspberry-like fruits adorn the tree from August through October. Wolf Eyes is a shrubbier form with white margined leaves that are less susceptible to burning than other variegated dogwoods. Scarlet fall color is late and long-lasting. Rich soil is preferred, so amend lean soils with compost. More drought and disease resistant that Flowering varieties.
