A classic bonsai that can be kept rootbound to maintain its distinctive dwarf size. As these junipers grow, they can be pruned to maintain a specific shape as well. Repot every two years in a well draining potting mix, but keep in mind if the pot size is increased, the bonsai will be allowed to grow larger. Provide as much bright light as possible indoors, and place outside on a sunny patio during the summer if available. Water once soil is almost dry – don’t let this bonsai dry out completely or it will start shedding needles. Supplement humidity in the winter if possible, and keep away from vents and drafts. Fertilize spring through late summer.
