"The Great Outdoors"

Featured in the June, 2004 Newsletter

Outdoor entertaining has increased in popularity over the last several years as people have transformed their patios, decks and backyard areas into extensions of their homes.

Comfortable outdoor furniture is a must for the success of your outdoor areas. Summer Classic wicker, cast aluminum and wrought iron are available in several different styles. Special orders are always possible if you don't see what you want.

Light your outdoor areas with table-top copper torches and lanterns and taller copper torches for the yard. Or, use our new, round, "dimpled," ceramic lamps in white, yellow and orange that can be placed on tables or on the ground around pools, patios or decks. For a touch of beauty, add hand-blown glass lamps to tables and serving areas or float them in a fountain, pool or other water feature.

Add pizzazz to your table with our colorful dishes and serving pieces in solids and patterns. Complement your dishes with coordinating placemats and napkins. For easy clean-up, choose bold and bright floral and striped paper plates and napkins.

Simplify your entertaining with our dip mixes, sauces and ambrosias for quick appetizers and refreshing beverage mixes from Stonewall Kitchens, Pelican Bay and Prairie Thymes. These great mixes make great hostess gifts when you're the one being entertained!

Complete your table with a colorful, easy-to-do centerpiece. Choose a low bowl or container that complements your table setting. Fill it with Gerber Daisies in a variety of colors, keeping them in their plastic pots. If you end up with an empty space in the center, cut apart an annual 4-pack and add as many as needed to fill the space. When your event is over, plant your annuals in a larger container for your deck and patio, or add color to your garden.

Summer entertaining should be easy, and it's more fun when it's outdoors!

So go for it! Increase your color power!
