"Hosting. Ideas for Holiday Entertaining"
Featured in the September/October, 2003 Newsletter
From informal receptions to black-tie dinners, holiday get-togethers are as
much a part of the season as Old Saint Nick himself. If you find yourself
playing the role of host or hostess this year, the key is to remember one
very important word.
Fun.
Holiday get-togethers should be fun-for you as well as your guests. Too
often, our focus is only on creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for
our guests. As a result, an already busy time of year becomes even more
stressful for us.
Enjoying the hosting experience means embracing your own creativity and
style. Far from being stressful, this should be the most enjoyable part of the
experience. Here are some tips to jump start your creativity.
A centerpiece is a great place to start when planning your event.
Make a statement by arranging an assortment of colorful glass vases, with
greenery and candles in a variety of sizes. Set it off with fabric "drapes" in
coordinating colors, or use a colorful holiday table runner. Sprinkle some shiny
confetti to add a festive feel.
Set a table to be remembered with unique serving pieces to complement your
dinnerware. Try wine, martini, or margarita glasses in red and purple.
Mix an assortment of platters in silver and gold, or add pieces with brightly
colored beading.
For even more ideas, stop by Campbell's brand new Holiday Entertaining
section. Filled with festive glassware and dinnerware, unique serving pieces,
and much more, our displays are overflowing with ideas for creative
entertaining. We can even make food preparation a snap with our many
easy-to-prepare mixes for dip, soup, and bread.
Our experts will also be happy to help you with ideas to enhance and simplify
your life during this busy season. If you wish, we can even design your table or
help you with all of the decorating for your holiday event.
Whatever you do for this holiday season, remember-make it simple and make it
fun.
