Send your kid on a fun and educational backyard safari.
Whether your kids think they're cool or yucky, practically all kids share a
fascination with bugs and insects. These backyard visitors come in so many
amazing colors and varieties, and in so many unusual shapes and styles, they're
a fertile source for inquisitive and imaginative minds.
There's the regal lady bug. The mysterious praying mantis. The beautiful
butterfly. The spooky spider. The fanciful lightning bug. And all their creepy,
amazing, and wonderful friends.
With a few items and a little direction, your kids can enjoy backyard bug
adventures all summer long while you're working around your gardenor barbecue.
The days of punching holes in a mason jar are gone. Today, there's a wide
variety of lightweight, fun, and inexpensive items to make a backyard safari fun
and adventurous. At Campbell's, you'll find a whole section of items that will
make you wish you were a kid once again.
Check out the Bug Jar. This unbreakable jar has a plastic, easy-to-grip leafy
lid with a breathable mesh section. It's a great way to collect bugs, view them
up close, and then release (outside, of course!)
The Port-a-Bug is also great. This ventilated mesh house is light,
escape-proof, and packs away in a tiny tote. Perfect for collecting bugs in a
backyard safari and then bringing them to show and tell. The tote sack even
clips onto a belt or pant waistband.
A butterfly net and a Butterfly Pavilion can give a child hours of
educational enjoyment. The 3' high hanging butterfly pavilion is zippered for
easy access. It comes with a poster, an eyedropper for feeding butterflies, and
a helpful guide with butterfly facts. If your child has trouble catching
butterflies, it even comes with a certificate for ten painted lady caterpillars,
delivered to your doorstep.
With the Creative Peeper, your kids can study their catches at 3x
magnification. This kid- and bug-friendly viewer features an escape-proof
viewing chamber.
Bugs and insects are a part of every garden. With a few simple items, they
can also provide hours of entertainment for your kids.
