Digging the Pond

• Lay out the area using a rope or a garden hose.

• Use Spray paint to more permanetly mark the shape.

• If the area is level dig down to the first shelf. Dig 2 to 3 inches inside of the marked area.

• Mark the shelf area and dig down to the nest shelf.

• Repeat the above steps untill the entire pond is dug out.

• Remember that shelf height is determined by the desired water level

• It is better to dig too shallow than to dig too deep and have to fill back in.
